Favorite Dresses & Awesome Hair Pieces

Short and Sweet- Samantha (awesome name by the way) came over with her fiance from the UK to get married to her sweetheart. She was cute as a button with an adorable personality and a dress to match. It was short with a plain cream tank dress underneath of a long sleeve sheer cover with silver sequins and embroidery on it and a wide satin cream band at the bottom securing the two layers together. So simple but elegant and beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful- It was just Alia and her groom that day and I have to say that she is one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen. They had an amazing photo shoot with tons of awesome pictures. Her dress was a lace halter with a long lace train. I love lace. There is just something so elegant and classy about it, it reminds me of the early 1900's. I guess I can be a sucker for the traditional.

My All Time Favorite- I saw Harmoni get out of the limo and said "that's the Galina dress model#SV9563!" I already knew this dress as it has been my favorite wedding dress for some time now. The line provides a long beautiful silhouette, a soft silky fabric with a free flowing train, a beaded dropped waist and ruching where the front of the dress overlaps at the waist.
She also had a great vintage hair piece to wear with it. I couldn't stop telling her how amazing she looked.

Ten Wonderful Years

Andy and Jenney Brown renewed their vows here at Chapel of the Flowers, where they were married ten years ago. The couple was so excited to be back, and they remembered everything from their wedding day. They also brought their unity candle from their wedding day, and lit it together one more time. The candle was in the original packaging, and it was the first time they saw the candle since their wedding day! Andy was a helpless romantic and Jenney was thrilled to be back! We wish them more years to come.

Texas Style Wedding

August 21, 2010 Justin and Sara had a beautiful ceremony in our gardens. They enjoy the outdoors and it only made sense for them to have their special day outside at Chapel of the Flowers.

Sara and her bridesmaids looked stunning in their dresses.
Justin and his groomsman sported a casual Texas style. They wore jeans, collared shirts, cowboy boots, and their cowboy hats!
Thank you Justin and Sara for bringing your Texas style to Vegas!

I really enjoyed meeting you and your family.
Enjoy married life! It was an honor to be part of your day.

Southern Belle Beauties

I had the opportunity to meet Sonny and Jessica! I first met them at their consultation with Michelle, who is one of our wedding planners. The next time I saw them was at their check out in our gift shop after their ceremony. The final time we met was at their photo appointment the following day. They were both still glowing from the realization that they are both married. Both Sonny and Jessica are photogenic, so their pictures turned out amazing!

They have been together since they were 15 years old and met in homeroom class in high school. He noticed her putting her make-up on and she finally just gave him a piece of paper with her name and number and said, "You will be my boyfriend, call me!" He did just that. It worked because now they are happily married after 12 years!

Congratulations to Sonny and Jessica for letting us be a part of your special day!

Elvis is in the Chapel!!!

Richard and Alexandra were married on August 14, 2009 in our La Capella chapel.
They are a super sweet couple! Alexandra looked absolutely stunning in her vintage style dress and her red heels! We all loved her looked! Richard rocked his pink tie!

Richard and Alexandra had a small ceremony. They brought along two family members with them that also matched there wedding decor! Alexandra had Elvis, Yes Elvis, walk her down the isle! She was so excited, but her sister was just a little more excited than she was!

When Elvis walked through the chapel doors I thought her sister was going to fall over! She could not believe her eyes. To her it was like seeing the "real" Elvis!
Elvis went to set up and practice for a moment before the ceremony. He starting singing and Alex's sister told us that she is in love! We all joked that we needed to hold he back!

Elvis sang three songs through out the ceremony. It was like having there own private concert!
Along with our beautiful bride and groom, some staff members also enjoyed listening to the sounds of Elvis!

Richard and Alexandra had purchased there rings here in Las Vegas. They decided that it would be a nice touch to get there wedding bands in the town they were married in!
Congratulations! I enjoyed meeting you and your family members! It was a joy to be part of your special day! Best of luck to you!

Tom and Julie have been a couple for seventeen years and decided to get married and not tell anyone that today was the day. So, they eloped to Las Vegas where Chapel of the Flowers made their wedding day the most exciting day of their lives.

Together they walked down the aisle with Julie in her beautiful wedding gown and Tom in his tuxedo and charming smile. They exchanged vows, rings and lit the unity candle stating that they are now united as one.

Let us all wish them congratulations and a long and happy married life. May the celebration begin!

20 years and more to come

Enjoying their first 20 years as a married couple with a terrific family, Toni and Anthony traveled from New York to share a renewal of vows ceremony.

This family had a fun loving and relaxed way about them, enjoying the fun rides, great food and all that Las Vegas has to offer.

We here at Chapel of the Flowers look forward to seeing them in a repeat renewal of vows ceremony. See you in 5 years!

John and Mandy

This past Monday was a really big day here at the chapel and I didn't even know it. It was 8-9-10 and a big day that a lot of people wanted to get married so we were unusually busier this past Monday than normal.

I had the privelage of coordinating in the La Capella chapel that day and I totally fell in love with John and Mandy. I was so grateful that I got to be part of their day as their coordinator. When Mandy first came in, she was wearing a beautiful, sort of vintage dress, all lace, reminiscent of 1952, a short veil, a little lace bolero with cap sleeves and shiny red heels. Mandy looked fierce. When she came in, she actually couldn't look at any of her family or friends because she would start crying, so I would joke around with her to try and keep her from crying and messing up her make-up.

Her bouquet was gorgeous, deep red roses, deep red dahlia's, and black (eggplant) lilies. Mandy has good taste.

She also did not have an engagement ring but instead had a diamond tattooed on her ring finger. Once again, her style blew me away.

My favorite part of my time with them was before I was going to line up Mandy to walk down the aisle, I went into the minister's office where she was waiting and I asked her if she was ready to get married and she was so nervous that she couldn't really answer me. So I gave her a little pep talk, took her by the hand, told her I wouldn't let her fall down, I said I would walk down the aisle beside her if she needed me to. Of course, that would be silly but I wanted to be there for her in whatever way she needed me.

They also had an amazing wedding cake created by Shannon at Shannicakes. I loved everything they chose that day.

One of my favorite things about a bride and groom is when they cry. Crying in public doesn't always get a good reputation. Some people say that crying is a sign of weakness, but I believe it's a sign of strength. It takes a lot of strength to be completely vulnerable and to be that vulnerable in front of people takes even more strength. So, when two people are so in love that it trumps everything else, the way they may look to other people, what could happen to the bride's make-up, what if your voice cracks when you repeat your vows, to be so overwhelmed with emotion that none of that matters anymore... that's strength. And so I almost started crying with them when they both came out of the chapel with tears running down their face. I love it when the bride cries, but I love it even more when I see the groom cry.

John and Mandy totally hold a place in my heart and I wish them all the happiness possible in their future.

E Harmony

On August 9, 2010 I had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful couple. Randy and Amanda were so excited to be getting married! I met them in reservations and while walking back to the chapel I got to know how they met. They met through an online dating site called e harmony. They informed me they only have been together for a little over two months! I would have never guessed because they were so in love. They looked like they have been together their whole lives. Amanda read on Randy's profile that he 3 boys, all grown, that attend college. Amanda also has a son and would be attending the same college as Randy's boys this fall. Once she read that she knew she had to talk to him. They spoke every night for 3 or more hours on the phone. Randy flew Amanda out to California from Texas and he told me once she got off that plane he knew he wanted to spend his life with her. Amanda went back to Texas, left her job, packed her stuff and moved to California to be Randy. They decided to get married here in Vegas at Chapel of the Flowers. They wanted a romantic ceremony that only involved them two! All 4 boys watched online as there families became one!

Thank you Randy and Amanda for letting me be part of your special day! I really enjoyed hearing your story! Best of luck!

40 years and still so in love...

Jim and Doris were married 40 years and five days on July 30th.
Doris wore a bright sunny yellow dress with a disposition to match. They were so sweet with each other as Doris would show Jim where to sign his name.

Before they were married 40 years ago, they dated for 7 years before that!

It was also really cute when they would sneak smooches with each other. At the end of their ceremony, Doris planted a kiss on Jim that would make a 20 year old blush.

Thanks Jim and Doris for letting me be a part of your renewal.
