True Love

Tom and Julie have been a couple for seventeen years and decided to get married and not tell anyone that today was the day. So, they eloped to Las Vegas where Chapel of the Flowers made their wedding day the most exciting day of their lives.

Together they walked down the aisle with Julie in her beautiful wedding gown and Tom in his tuxedo and charming smile. They exchanged vows, rings and lit the unity candle stating that they are now united as one.

Let us all wish them congratulations and a long and happy married life. May the celebration begin!

20 years and more to come

Enjoying their first 20 years as a married couple with a terrific family, Toni and Anthony traveled from New York to share a renewal of vows ceremony.

This family had a fun loving and relaxed way about them, enjoying the fun rides, great food and all that Las Vegas has to offer.

We here at Chapel of the Flowers look forward to seeing them in a repeat renewal of vows ceremony. See you in 5 years!

A Family Affair

When I met Tracy and Brian Conwell their story took me by surprise. Look at this couple and you'll see what I mean; they are so young looking and they have 2 young grandchildren. Does this mean that the old saying is that children keep you young? It appears that this is true for Tracy and Brian.

Driving from Mesa, AZ, the couple brought their family to help them celebrate their 20th anniversay and enjoy the fun of Las Vegas.

The Chapel of the Flowers staff enjoyed celebrating your special day with you and we hope to see you in 5 years to make your 25th anniversary extra special.

VIP Treatment!

Dale and Laura Fazzio were married on November 21 at our intimate Magnolia chapel. Laura was so pleased with all of our staff and the entire wedding experience she had to call back her wonderful planner Lakisha and tell her that she felt like a total celebrity!

Laura felt as though she and Dale were the only couple getting married, the entire wedding experience was amazing! Their photographer Tai was so enjoyable to work with and captured amazing photos. Laura was a little nervous for the ceremony but was more relieved when she arrived seeing that everything was according to her plan, even her beautiful bouquet. Dale and Laura chose the Deluxe First Look option at our chapel where there are two limos and they don't see each other till the bride walks down the aisle. Dale and Laura had a beautiful cake and exquisite reception dinner at Pampas at Planet Hollywood after their ceremony. This couple had chosen the Regal package which includes a very fun 20 minute visit to the photo studio which enhances the wonderful wedding experience and Vip treatment! A car accident to remember!

Gregg and Tammy met in July 1996 when Tammy rear ended a huge truck with her little car. There were no injuries and not even a scratch on the truck but Tammy took her car to be fixed at Creek Collision Center, where Gregg was a mechanic.
When Gregg and Tammy saw each other there were definite sparks and when Gregg finished the repairs they went on their first date. Two glorious weeks later Gregg proposed! Gregg had made all the arrangements himself and five weeks later they were married in a gazebo in a minister's backyard in Kansas City. Their three children and Tammy's cousin were the only attendees.

Thirteen years later they are more in love than ever! Tammy and Gregg chose our beautiful chapel to renew their vows of 13 yrs, and from the staff standpoint it was wonderful to see how in love they are! Piece of advice from this couple? "It hasn't been always easy but it has always been worth it!" Chapel of The Flowers we love celebrating renewal of vows, first time marriages, eighth marriages, whatever it may be were happy to have you celebrate your occasion with us.

Chapel of The Flowers Takes a Field Trip!!

Once upon a time there was a staff meeting, deciding that the lovely ladies of Chapel of The Flowers, deserve an evening of laughter and excellent food! Little did the managers know the evening would be not only fun,but it was full of funny stories, jokes, tasting an entire menu and table dancing by our most elegant coordinator Beverly! (Few sips of Diet Coke and she gets a little wild!!) OK, there was no table dancing, but there was toss up of who would be dared to, between Beverly and Andria who just had a baby and first time out on the town, were a wild bunch!
Salads, shrimp with meat, kabobs, petite filets, spicy ribs, dates to die for, roasted peppers oh my!Bread with some sort of fabulous butter, canonoli's,calamari, croquettas, berry tarts, banana and nutella sandwiches, cute waiter and a partridge in a pear tree were just a few items we had!All the staff at Firefly restaurant and all the patrons at the bar, were green with envy of how much fun we were having and enjoying the view of 11 beautiful ladies all smiles on their faces!

At The Chapel of The Flowers were not only co-workers but were friends. It's very rare to have co-workers that become friends or some cases like family in a work environment, but somehow our little story book chapel is able to accomplish that.Unfortunately we had a few planners and coordinators missing but we carried on with out them, even though it was tough, but they were truly missed.

We had so much fun being able to socialize outside of the work place so we can get to know each other better!

After trying the entire menu, topped off with dessert, we waddled out to our cars, said our goodbyes and walked away with a memory of a wonderful evening! Were a great team at Chapel of The Flowers and none of us can do our job alone, we all work together and we produce amazing weddings! Thanks to the managers for such a fun night and thank you to all the staff for doing such an outstanding job!

25 yrs and Going!!!

Today Mary had the surprise of a lifetime! Dave is quite the romantic husband as he had told Mary they were going to Vegas with friends celebrating their 25 year anniversary, little did Mary know Dave had planned a renewal of vows at our wonderful Chapel of The Flowers! The couple was expecting their best friends to pull up to the hotel with their rental car when a Chapel of The Flowers limo pulled up instead! The couple were swept away to our chapel where Mary was trying to take the idea in and was looking a little shell shocked!
Mary and Dave were celebrating their 25th Anniversary with a wonderful renewal of vows and a very heart felt ceremony performed by our minister Doug. One more suprise was in order for Mary, when during the ceremony Dave pulled out beautiful new rings he had purchased in secret. Mary was more then surprised and probably couldn't of had a better way to celebrate their anniversary, especially with their best friends, and soon to be in-laws! The two couples met through their engaged children and ended up being best friends! They all had wonderful time and we love being apart of such a special occasion and even more were great at executing suprise weddings!! We hope to see the Fritsch's on their 50th!

Wedding Gift Etiquette!!

Attending a wedding is a joyous occasion but the question comes to mind of what to get the bride and groom for a gift? How long does a guest have to send a gift? Is it acceptable for the couple to ask for a specific gift?
According to experts is bad form to request a specific gift, its never acceptable to ask for a gift, and it's bad form to put a gift registry on an invitation.
If your unable to attend to a wedding the proper wedding etiquette is you have up to one year to send a gift, even though gifts should be no later then three months but even this long can be considered rude. The proper rule is its better to send the gift as soon as you recieve the invitation so the bride and groom wont have to worry about getting it home.
Is money an appropriate gift? Absolutely! Especially these days money is probably a better choice, or if you dont want the bride and groom to know how much you spent you can buy and expensive looking gift for a cheaper price.
How much to spend? There is a wedding etiquette rumor that the cost of a wedding gift should equal the cost of the guest's meal. This is not true. No matter how much the bride and groom spent on the dinner, the choice is up to the gift giver of how much to spend. If its a family member that's getting married or close friend you will probably want to spend a little more then a co-worker etc.
Registry is a wonderful thing because the gifts have been chosen by the happy couple and as a guest you have an idea of what the couple wants, even though you are free to shop any store.
Thank You card should be written and sent within two weeks of the wedding, one month at the latest as an etiquette rule. It's stated that their is no excuse for not properly thanking your guests for a wedding gift that they put alot of thought into the gift. Guests who are properly thanked are touched you took the time out to send a note.
No matter what the gift will be or if you are attending a wedding at our Chapel of The Flowers and forgot a present our quaint gift shop can help you with all of your gifting needs! Our selection of presents has everything for that special day or keepsakes such as champagne flutes for years of enjoyment! Picking your perfect wedding date!!!!

You've just gotten engaged and everyone wants to know when the wedding is, but you have to decide what time of year, how to deal with holiday weekends and peoples schedules. Question is how do you pick the perfect date? Here are a few tips to help in your decision making.

Choosing a wedding date it seems similar to putting together a puzzle or playing a game of chess. One of the major considerations for choosing the date is which season you want to get married in. Do you want the warmth of summer, lushness of spring flowers, coziness of fall or a winter wonderland. For instance if you are an accountant then spring is definitely out of the question, if your a teacher summers might be best, wedding coordinator probably winter, it all depends on what your job demands of you.

For a money saving opportunity you and your loved one should consider a weekday wedding. Several venues, vendors and other discounts are applied when having a weekday wedding. You must consider if you definitely want a Saturday wedding or do religious observances like the Jewish or Christian Sabaths mean that either Saturday or Sunday weddings aren't an option. If most of your wedding guests are in town and not traveling, a weekday wedding might be the perfect option for you.

Spring weddings are a season where more vendors will be available and you might get discounted rates on sites and especially travel. If your getting married in a church you might be able to save some money and use the Easter decorations. The only gamble is the weather so be prepared for a nice 70 degree weather day or April showers. Bright spring colors are a great way to combine the weather and your wedding colors, along with several bright flowers that are in season.

Summer weddings are the most popular season due to the off chance of bad weather. A garden (such our chapels glass garden) or a gazebo, as in our lovely chapels are an excellent choice to combine the season and your wedding. Choosing your flowers might be the most difficult part due to the abundance of choices in the summer, every flower from lilies, dahlias, gerber daisies, mums and of course roses are all cheerful and fun to fill the space around your ceremony and reception.

Fall weddings are romantic time of year and are a time of year when people come home for the holidays and think about loved ones. A warming, intimate wedding set with colors such as jewel tones, fall earth tones such as browns and yellows are a perfect compliment. Making use of seasonal decorations such as pumpkins, acorns, fall leaves, jack -o-lanterns or paper luminaria for a candlelit setting is perfect. Some couples want Halloween mixed in with their special day as an option to!

Winter wonderland
A winter wedding can be very romantic and right out of a Hollywood setting. Ice diamond or diamond like jewelry set off the magical time of the season. Silver capes or long silk dresses with white fur or faux fur wraps are a great accent to your gown. Silver and white elegant colors are popular or decide if you want reds and greens to match the season. Eucalyptus and roses, lilies and stephanotis are a pretty choice or for a brighter bouquet, red roses and holly or pine tree greenery, ornamental berries are an excellent choice.

There is a question of how long should an engagement be and its been said a year is a good amount of time to plan a wedding, while not stressing out. Other people think otherwise and a short engagement is better because an entire year is unnecessary and torturous.

You could get married on the anniversary of the day you met, one of your birthdays, or holiday such as Valentine's to help in the decision making process. The last thing you want to do is have your wedding on an important religious holiday or Super Bowl Sunday where your guests will be unhappy for being there.

Keep in mind key players in your wedding such as your parents annual trip to Paris, or your sister in college is in midst of finals, but only worry about the immediate family otherwise you'll stress yourself out trying to fit to many people's schedules.
You will want to make sure that your favorite location is available, or your favorite photographer can be there. At Chapel of The Flowers, we always have the best photographers in Las Vegas available to you and our location is the perfect setting year round! Renewal of vows are in season year round as well!!
Whatever your wedding date may be Chapel of The Flowers can help you plan the seasonal wedding of your dreams. Visit our website of littlechapel.com or call to speak to a professional wedding planner today. 800-843-2410 or 702-735-4494

Your Perfect Ceremony!!!

After all the planning has happened and your special day is finally here the one component that can make or break your wedding is the ceremony and who officiates it. At Chapel of The Flowers our ministers are incomprable to any chapel! Each minister puts their heart and soul into their ceremonies and even though the timing of the ceremony is short and sweet, the words that are said are memorable and will last a lifetime. Chapel of The Flowers hand picked our ministers so we could give our couples a quality over quantity ceremony and we take pride in our weddings. You can watch a wedding online at littlechapel.com to view our ceremonies and ministers but heres a little biography about each one.

Van Dunson
Van Dunson grew up in Texas, where he attended Texas Wesleyan University. He served in the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church before moving to Las Vegas in 1991. He has officiated thousands of ceremonies for couples from all over the world since becoming a Chapel Minister in 2001. He has also served as Minister of Music and Minister of Youth, and enjoys playing piano and singing for his family and friends. He has two beautiful children, an 18 year old son and a 16 year old daughter, who like to keep him busy, and young! Van truly enjoys performing weddings for the Chapel, and loves the fact that no two couples are alike!

Jerry Stephens
Jerry Stephens has been a senior pastor of four churches in California and Texas. He has been a minister for over 40 years, been married for 33 years, and has lived in Las Vegas for 10 years. Jerry likes classic cars and trucks but he loves spending time with his wife and family and serving people on their wedding day.

Doug Gilbert
Doug was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, but moved to Las Vegas over 25 years ago. He has been married to a beautiful woman for over 23 years, and has two amazing sons. He likes dogs, and has an immense respect for those serving in our armed forces (his son is currently serving in the Navy). He loves to travel all over the world, and he recently made a missionary trip to South Africa to help mission to those suffering with AIDS, which was a really memorable experience. He has been a minister for 15 years, and loves to make every couple have a truly special ceremony!

Al Hansen
Al has pastured churches in New Jersey & Nevada. He spent many years ministering on the PGA golf tour and in the process caddied for professionals on tour. He caddied for 8 Masters, 17 US Opens, and hundreds of Tournaments. His goal is that each couple he marries will know his desire to make their day a very personal experience for them. He has raised 9 step-children and has 1 daughter.

50 years and Going!!

Kenneth and Margarete Byrd are a sensational couple that all marriages should strive for! It is truly a love of a lifetime and defines what a soul mate really is.
Kenneth was stationed in Germany in the air force in the late 1950's where he met the lovely Margarete. They had dated for three years when suddenly Kenneth had received orders to return to the States. Margarete had asked if they would ever see each other again and Kenneth had said he had hoped she would come with him, and so this became the beginning of a true love story. At a certain point in their marriage they had to be separated for a year only to learn that it only made their love stronger!
Today August 21, 2009 is Kenneth and Margarete's 50Th anniversary to the exact day, and to the hour. They originally got married in Germany and a beautiful hunting lodge with a Renaissance themed building 50 yrs ago and decided on our beautiful grounds of Chapel of the Flowers for the next 50 yrs.
Their photographer had asked," what is the secret to a marriage lasting this long?" and Kenneth responded with "giving her respect", "its the easiest thing I've ever done". The Byrd's had several relatives watching their wedding today because they weren't able to make the trip but I'm sure they shared in the joy as we did watching these two beautiful people in love! Congratulations Kenneth and Margarete!

IT'S A NEW DAY!

Ambience is everything. Imagine dreaming of renewing your vows after 10, 25 or 50 years and you happen upon a website that fills you full of the idea that you can have whatever you want.

Its not a matter of what you want but a matter of where and how. Atmosphere, you realize, is what your ceremony is all about. Planning is ceremony is not as easy as it seems; but at Chapel of the Flowers we give you that ambience with elegance so that you carry your memories with you forever.

This week at Chapel of the Flowers we celebrated three couples renewing their vows with meaning, international flavor and fun with a sense of adventure. While they had their own flavor of ambience, we at the chapel were drawn in by their own style.

Our first couple of the day, Karin Chataigner and Olivier Blanchard, had traveled from France to celebrate their 10 hears of marriage. With their 2 small children along for the ride, the couple entered the Victorian chapel dressed full costume and wigs as Elvis and Marilyn Monroe. Many laughs later and pictures to prove their unique sense of fun and adventure the family went on their with the thoughts of continuing their adventures by traveling to the Grand Canyon Sky Walk.

What a surprise we encountered with our second couple, Felisa Gutierrez and Emilio Prado, who traveled to Las Vegas from Spain, when they showed up dressed as Elvis and Marilyn Monroe. In the 2 years that I've worked at the chapel this is first that I can recall of 2 wedding or renewal of vows ceremonies that couple have dressed as Elvis and Marilyn. xxxxx and zzzzzz brought their 3 children to enjoy the festivities and my hunch ? after 25 years of marriage to show them that a sense of humor is a must for a lasting marriage.

Now this brings us to the classic and elegant renewal of vows that speaks of renewing your life to the one person in your life that you vowed 50 years ago to honor, hold dear to your heart and love them through all that life brings. Christiforo and Rosa Di Mataleo, originally from Italy and now living in Australia, brought the real meaning of why we get up every day to come and work at our wedding chapel. The world is losing out on our marriage role models as they age and continue on with life's journey. Just being in the same room, feeling the love that they and their family shared you have a sense of their peace, lasting wonderment and love, and for one short moment you wish you could have been present for more than just a very short half hour. To step into their inner circle warms your heart and you know you have become richer and honored for having been in their presence.

All three of these couples brought their own ambience to the chapel that day. These are just a very small example of why I love coming to work every day and proudly proclaim that "I am a happiness junky".

Let Chapel of the Flowers help you create your own style of ambience and "Dream Come True" wedding or renewal of vows ceremony by callingl 1-800-843-2410 or visit our website at http://www.littlechapel.com/

........"Just the way you look tonight!"

Christian and Monica Sanchez were married at our Chapel of the Flowers on August 12 in true show tune style! At Chapel of the Flowers we love being part of any wedding, but especially when we work with very romantic grooms! Christian sang his heart out to Sinatra's "The way you look tonight" as the two bridesmaids walked down the aisle and Monica sauntered her way in. Monica looked beautiful in her modern wedding dress and was entranced by Christians singing as she walked up to him to the alter. At Chapel of the Flowers we commend Christian for his incredibly romantic gesture and appreciated the effort he put into his song. Whether its singing a song or dancing down the aisle we love romance at our chapel! Let Chapel of the Flowers help plan your perfectly romantic wedding!! Just Like Starting Over Again

Picture it............

Mr. Yves Bollag and his family were on a family trip here in the states. They are staying at the magnificent Bellagio and have ordered for the night a cocktail of fine dining, taking in the sites, sounds and smells of Las Vegas and ending it with a show. It's about 3:30pm and as Yves is in a small Gift Shop looking over a beautiful necklace for his wife, He comes up with an idea. Full of esteem and loving secrecy, he quickly gathers his 2 sons and whispers to them. Like a igniting a flame with a match, the excitement bursts into action and the anticipation grows between the 3 men.

The Bollag family arrives to "the Chapel of the Flowers", at early evening. The sun is still sizzling in the sky, however is making its farewell rounds as it slowly falls over the building tops. The Bollag family arrive onto the cobblestone entrance of our wedding chapel and exit their limo to take in the beautiful grounds they have seen and heard of on TLC as well as through the staff of the Bellagio. The staff immediately gets into character. Little smiles and heartwarming welcome greets the Bollag family.

When I met Yves, it was almost as if this man were getting married for the first time. His eyes sparkled with so much love for his wife, as told me his surprise plan to marry her tonight all over again.

Once Yves wife Miranda realised what was going on, it was as if she were brought into that flame of fire and it was complete. Tears welled up in both Yves and Miranda's eyes and I might just have to believe in faith, that those boys may have had a lump in their throats themselves.

One thing that sticks with me the most was the look in Yves eyes as he entrusted to me the music CD he cherished. He explained to me that this song, was the only one he wanted to play, that song represents everything they were, are and are going to be. This song, was priceless to him. I took in my hands and didn't let it go until I knew for sure it would be played over them as he requested it.

I took some time on my own that night, to look over the words of this song. It's a song called "Just Like Starting Over Again" by our amazing music legend, John Lennon. As I play this song tonight as I write this story to you. My hope is for every man and woman out there, to find a love that is as strong, as laborious, as cherished and as redeemed as Yves and Miranda's was that night.

So tonight, I leave you with the Lyrics to this song, play it once or twice.. you know how to find it online. :) Remind yourself once again, who the love of your life is and maybe its your turn to have a chance to start all over again....

Just Like Starting Over Again
John Lennon

"Our life together is so precious together,
We have grown - we have grown,
Although our love is still special,
Let's take our chance and fly away somewhere alone,
It's been so long since we took the time,
No-one's to blame,
I know time flies so quikly,
But when I see you darling,
It's like we both are falling in love again,
It'll be just like starting over - starting over,
Everyday we used to make it love,
Why can't we be making love nice and easy,
It's time to spread our wing's and fly,
Don't let another day go by my love,
It'll be just like starting over - starting over,
Why don't we take off alone, Take a trip far, far away,
We'll be together on our own again,
Like we used to in the early days,
Well, well, well darling, I
t's been so long since we took the time,
No-one's to blame,
I know time flies so quickly,
But when I see you darling,
It's like we both are falling in love again,
It'll be just like starting over - starting over,
Everyday we used to make it love,
Why can't we be making love nice and easy,
It's time to spread our wing's and fly,
Don't let another day go by my love,
It'll be just like starting over - starting over,
Our life together is so precious together,
We have grown - we have grown,
Although our love is still special,
Let's take our chance and fly away
...................... somewhere alone.
