Generations of Marriage!

David and Kim Jones were married in our beautiful Victorian Chapel on November 28! Not only was this Kim and David's special day but this chapel had special meaning to Kim and her sister, Kim's parents had actually been married at our Victorian Chapel 40 yrs ago! The Victorian Chapel has of course been remodeld since and is even more beautiful and a perfect spot to get married. Kim had even brought us a surprise to show us a brochure of Little Chapel of The Flowers from 40 yrs ago her parents had kept and wanted to show our staff. We told David and Kim they should keep the tradition going and not only renew their vows here but have their kids get married here as well! We love stories like this one and we wish David and Kim many happy years and hope to see them in 10 on their anniversary!!

VIP Treatment!

Dale and Laura Fazzio were married on November 21 at our intimate Magnolia chapel. Laura was so pleased with all of our staff and the entire wedding experience she had to call back her wonderful planner Lakisha and tell her that she felt like a total celebrity!

Laura felt as though she and Dale were the only couple getting married, the entire wedding experience was amazing! Their photographer Tai was so enjoyable to work with and captured amazing photos. Laura was a little nervous for the ceremony but was more relieved when she arrived seeing that everything was according to her plan, even her beautiful bouquet. Dale and Laura chose the Deluxe First Look option at our chapel where there are two limos and they don't see each other till the bride walks down the aisle. Dale and Laura had a beautiful cake and exquisite reception dinner at Pampas at Planet Hollywood after their ceremony. This couple had chosen the Regal package which includes a very fun 20 minute visit to the photo studio which enhances the wonderful wedding experience and Vip treatment! A car accident to remember!

Gregg and Tammy met in July 1996 when Tammy rear ended a huge truck with her little car. There were no injuries and not even a scratch on the truck but Tammy took her car to be fixed at Creek Collision Center, where Gregg was a mechanic.
When Gregg and Tammy saw each other there were definite sparks and when Gregg finished the repairs they went on their first date. Two glorious weeks later Gregg proposed! Gregg had made all the arrangements himself and five weeks later they were married in a gazebo in a minister's backyard in Kansas City. Their three children and Tammy's cousin were the only attendees.

Thirteen years later they are more in love than ever! Tammy and Gregg chose our beautiful chapel to renew their vows of 13 yrs, and from the staff standpoint it was wonderful to see how in love they are! Piece of advice from this couple? "It hasn't been always easy but it has always been worth it!" Chapel of The Flowers we love celebrating renewal of vows, first time marriages, eighth marriages, whatever it may be were happy to have you celebrate your occasion with us.

A RING OF GOLD

This past Monday, September 21, 2009 the Victorian staff had the absolute pleasure of meeting David Price and Suzanne Nash from Pontyclun, Wales. During the checkin process we ask the couple for their rings so we may take a few pictures with their flowers.

As David opened this beautiful wooden box your eyes fell on their rings, especially the grooms and hence the story he told of how he obtained this ring.

The ring is a family heirloom and has been passed down for five or six generations. The first generation grandfather and 3 friends were mining gold in Oklahoma and found a large nugget and was split into fourths, giving each some of the gold to do with what they wanted. David's grandfather had his share made into a wedding style band. which was retained in the natural form of gold, so this ring's appearance takes on a copper color because there was no other method used to treat the gold ore.
As a young boy his grandfather gave him the ring to keep for his wedding day. He said to his grandfather that the ring was too big and was told that he would grow into the ring. And sure enough it was a perfect fit.

25 yrs and Going!!!

Today Mary had the surprise of a lifetime! Dave is quite the romantic husband as he had told Mary they were going to Vegas with friends celebrating their 25 year anniversary, little did Mary know Dave had planned a renewal of vows at our wonderful Chapel of The Flowers! The couple was expecting their best friends to pull up to the hotel with their rental car when a Chapel of The Flowers limo pulled up instead! The couple were swept away to our chapel where Mary was trying to take the idea in and was looking a little shell shocked!
Mary and Dave were celebrating their 25th Anniversary with a wonderful renewal of vows and a very heart felt ceremony performed by our minister Doug. One more suprise was in order for Mary, when during the ceremony Dave pulled out beautiful new rings he had purchased in secret. Mary was more then surprised and probably couldn't of had a better way to celebrate their anniversary, especially with their best friends, and soon to be in-laws! The two couples met through their engaged children and ended up being best friends! They all had wonderful time and we love being apart of such a special occasion and even more were great at executing suprise weddings!! We hope to see the Fritsch's on their 50th!

Wedding Gift Etiquette!!

Attending a wedding is a joyous occasion but the question comes to mind of what to get the bride and groom for a gift? How long does a guest have to send a gift? Is it acceptable for the couple to ask for a specific gift?
According to experts is bad form to request a specific gift, its never acceptable to ask for a gift, and it's bad form to put a gift registry on an invitation.
If your unable to attend to a wedding the proper wedding etiquette is you have up to one year to send a gift, even though gifts should be no later then three months but even this long can be considered rude. The proper rule is its better to send the gift as soon as you recieve the invitation so the bride and groom wont have to worry about getting it home.
Is money an appropriate gift? Absolutely! Especially these days money is probably a better choice, or if you dont want the bride and groom to know how much you spent you can buy and expensive looking gift for a cheaper price.
How much to spend? There is a wedding etiquette rumor that the cost of a wedding gift should equal the cost of the guest's meal. This is not true. No matter how much the bride and groom spent on the dinner, the choice is up to the gift giver of how much to spend. If its a family member that's getting married or close friend you will probably want to spend a little more then a co-worker etc.
Registry is a wonderful thing because the gifts have been chosen by the happy couple and as a guest you have an idea of what the couple wants, even though you are free to shop any store.
Thank You card should be written and sent within two weeks of the wedding, one month at the latest as an etiquette rule. It's stated that their is no excuse for not properly thanking your guests for a wedding gift that they put alot of thought into the gift. Guests who are properly thanked are touched you took the time out to send a note.
No matter what the gift will be or if you are attending a wedding at our Chapel of The Flowers and forgot a present our quaint gift shop can help you with all of your gifting needs! Our selection of presents has everything for that special day or keepsakes such as champagne flutes for years of enjoyment! Your Perfect Ceremony!!!

After all the planning has happened and your special day is finally here the one component that can make or break your wedding is the ceremony and who officiates it. At Chapel of The Flowers our ministers are incomprable to any chapel! Each minister puts their heart and soul into their ceremonies and even though the timing of the ceremony is short and sweet, the words that are said are memorable and will last a lifetime. Chapel of The Flowers hand picked our ministers so we could give our couples a quality over quantity ceremony and we take pride in our weddings. You can watch a wedding online at littlechapel.com to view our ceremonies and ministers but heres a little biography about each one.

Van Dunson
Van Dunson grew up in Texas, where he attended Texas Wesleyan University. He served in the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church before moving to Las Vegas in 1991. He has officiated thousands of ceremonies for couples from all over the world since becoming a Chapel Minister in 2001. He has also served as Minister of Music and Minister of Youth, and enjoys playing piano and singing for his family and friends. He has two beautiful children, an 18 year old son and a 16 year old daughter, who like to keep him busy, and young! Van truly enjoys performing weddings for the Chapel, and loves the fact that no two couples are alike!

Jerry Stephens
Jerry Stephens has been a senior pastor of four churches in California and Texas. He has been a minister for over 40 years, been married for 33 years, and has lived in Las Vegas for 10 years. Jerry likes classic cars and trucks but he loves spending time with his wife and family and serving people on their wedding day.

Doug Gilbert
Doug was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, but moved to Las Vegas over 25 years ago. He has been married to a beautiful woman for over 23 years, and has two amazing sons. He likes dogs, and has an immense respect for those serving in our armed forces (his son is currently serving in the Navy). He loves to travel all over the world, and he recently made a missionary trip to South Africa to help mission to those suffering with AIDS, which was a really memorable experience. He has been a minister for 15 years, and loves to make every couple have a truly special ceremony!

Al Hansen
Al has pastured churches in New Jersey & Nevada. He spent many years ministering on the PGA golf tour and in the process caddied for professionals on tour. He caddied for 8 Masters, 17 US Opens, and hundreds of Tournaments. His goal is that each couple he marries will know his desire to make their day a very personal experience for them.
